I think we have known it for quite some time that that the likes of Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and other motorcycle manufacturers would be entering the V-Twin motorcycle marketplace with their versions of custom motorcycles and custom choppers. Just take a look at how the Yamaha Motorcycle Company’s Raider and Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company’s Rocker compare as custom motorcycles.
With the above in mind, we must take a look at Honda’s new Fury custom chopper motorcycle that will be released this January. The Fury is said to be designed to go head-to-head with the Harley
Davidson Rocker and the Yamaha Raider, but I do believe that it will need some creative and aggressive marketing with Honda’s long wait to enter the custom motorcycle marketplace.
The custom motorcycle that Honda appears to modeling after with the Fury is seen here in these two US Patent Application Sketches. The Fury Sketch 1 and Fury Sketch 2 are the official design drawings. This custom bike is slated to be debuted in January at the New York International Motorcycle Show.
It also appears that the Fury will have the VTX1300 (1312cc) engine married to a conventional five-speed gearbox. To keep in compliance with the United States Environmental Protection Regulations, it will be fuel injected. Whether it remains just another Honda motorcycle or will truly be a custom motorcycle that may compete with Harley Davidson motorcycles and other custom motorcycles is yet to be seen.
