“Bike Klub” Builds a Custom Motorcycle Bobber at School

by Boss Hawg on December 27, 2008

Now this is where its at.  Did you ever have such an opportunity to stay after school and build some bad @$$ custom motorcycle?  Bet you didn’t.  Well, the Canadians seem to have it going on here.  Blow torches, MIG & TIG welders, grinders…you name it…the Bike Klub at

Bernice MacNaughton High School is fabbing it up and turning out some nice custom motorcycles.

Bike Klub teaches students the art of custom motorcycle building through its after school program.  The whole thing started with Marc Mazerolle and school alumni creating a custom bicycle building program some 4 or so years ago.  Then in 1986 Mid-USA challenged and took them to the next level by donating a rigid motorcycle frame to build a custom motorcycle.   Frame in hand, Bike Klub sought out additional sponsors for the motorcycle parts and accessories.  As a training aid, Harley-Davidson donated an EVO Engine.  However, Merch Motors stepped in donating one of it’s engines and thus “Betty” was born.

Following came  more sponsors, AVON, Corbin, Crane Cams and so forth with some custom builders like Roger Goldammer, Matt Hotch and Russell Mitchell all pitching in and making donations.  The students are all about it.  Along with raising about $14,000 to purchase the tranny, controls, exhaust, primary, and other goodies…these kids are all about the art of metalworking and fabrication custom motorcycle building.

Bike Klub is already working on another custom motorcycle which will be a softail frame with a hybrid look of a drag bike-bobber.  Check out their first custom motorcycle Betty and other works at the Bernice MacNaughton High School.
